.: Attacks: Physical Attacks, Ki Attacks, Energy Attacks. |
Example 1:
Your being attacked by a Ram, one of the strongest single attacks that can be done. Well you could easily try to block and see how that works out... but you'll be damaged some -what if you can't afford it because your HP is too low...
Hope you can dodge the attack, maybe you'll roll a 20 or a 1 and counter.... But maybe he'll roll a 20 or a 1 and special hit... But if you get a 2 or a 19 you stop the special.... but he could stop yours with the same thing... It's a risk with a High chance of Success as well as failure, but. If you dodge you dont get hurt at all. If its a half hit, then you only get 1/2 of the dmg, if you get hit..... Well I guess that just depends on your situation.
.: Notes, Facts, and Comments about dodging.
Dodging is what I automatically roll when you're attacked or when you attack someone. So you dont have to tell you try to dodge unless you really feel you have to at the moment.
No DMG, Full DMG or 1/2 DMG... Not much more needs to be said about that.
Another good things about dodging especailly durring a combo is the chance for you to stop a combo. If at any point in the combo you manage to roll 10 Higher than the attacker, you stop thier combo and they still loose their combo points.
You're more likely to roll a special trying to dodge than Blocking. BUT on the same notion the attack does also, but if a 19 or 2 is rolled the special is ignored.
"Can I risk getting hit/Will I survive the hit? How fast am I compaired to him? What level is my dodge? Will my defense help at all durring the attack? Can i potentially survive a half-hit?" those are some of the things you should be thinking about when you are thinking about dodging. When I roll for dodge/Strike I roll two 20 sided dice. There's a lot of room for a bad roll compaired to a good roll for both parties as well as the chance og them being rolled near one another.
