.: How 2 Fight

This game is mainly fight based. The fighting system in the pride and joy of this game. Its actually quite simple to play, just a little dificult to understand everything and how everything works -BUT, you dont really need ot learn how everything works. The most important thing to remember is that I do all of the work You are just telling me what you're attempting to do, and I'll tell you what really happens.

This is really basic example how a fight runs:

Note that while being attack you can if you so choose try to block the attack. (I will automatically roll to see if you dodge or if they miss) you both return attack for attack until one person runs out of HP or gives up. Durring any point in the fight you can ask me your stats and I will update you with were you stand as far as HP, MP, Rage, and Combo points.

The rest of this page will be covering the basics of the rest of the fighting system. Note that some of the things that may happen in the RPG may or may not be covered in these pages. For more detailed examples of attacks and such go to The Fight Sheet.

.:Attacking

Alright, it's your turn to attack. Now the question is.... What to do? A single attack does a good deal of dmg and has a pretty high chance for some kind of critical or special.... A combo which increases my changes of doing atleast a little damage wether its small or big but may or may not do as much dmg as single attack -but it still might do more... Charge? The question is if you need it; or just want to do it for some kind of advantage... though it does take away rage... Power Up?? Well you could always use more power but it does cost Mp... but it gives me rage...

Basically you're going to have to figure out what you're going to do within your character's limits and do what you best see fit. For instance, it's your turn and you want to Knee, Double Axe Handle, and Energy Beam (Which is a combo that will take away 2 CPs)... Well you could just say that... But to make the playing experience better for everyone you could... 'Runs up to _____ kneeing them in the gut, then disappears and reappears behind them double axe handling them in the back of the head followed by an Energy Beam to the back.(Kn, DAH, EnB)' That's your basic Role Play, but it pays off...

After that I roll to see what happens; note that if you role play and get into a fight, as will I. So, instead of me saying something like 'Hit, hit, dodge-24 dmg'; I'm more likely to role-play out what happens... Hit, hit, as you fire the Energy Beam ______ turns around and knocks your hand away as the energy beam collides with the ground next to them creating a cloud of smoke and debris... You know... Something of that manner.

Also, before you go off saying what you want to do for your turn, wait for me to say what happens and the dmg.

NOW! I know you must have a million questions; What in the hell is Rage? How do I know what attacks I can do? What's a combo point? How many do I have? WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?
I will attempt to explain everything to you in sections, remember, don't let yourself become overwhelmed; I do all of the work. I hqave tried to go pretty indepth with the explanations to cover any potential questions you may have. If I havent then feel free to ask me. The only stupid qustion is the one you didnt ask.

.: Being Attacked

When you're being attacked there isn't much you can do. Your choices are dodging (Which I will automatically roll for), Blocking, or countering (Which usually you don't decide unless it's a Ki attack), No you don’t get to choose whether it hits you or not when you decide to dodge, I roll to see what happens. If/when you're attacked, I'll automatically roll for your dodge -that's unless you want to get hit, and when I say dodge that includes parrying and other sorts, it's just an auto thing to get things running smoothly.(Note-While dodging specials may occur that force you to block receiving little to no dmg, or it may force you to counter the attack, multiple things may happen depending on the situation/rolls.)

Blocking, every once in a while we must make a decision, try to move and possibly get hit for full dmg or partial dmg, or let yourself get hit in hopes of lessening the consequences. When you block you're letting yourself get hit but that may result in a variety of things; No dmg, a little dmg, 1/2 dmg, a good amount of dmg, full dmg... it all just depends. Lets not also forget that blocking is the same as defending which means you have less dmg coming towards you aside from the block itself -also, if you have certain items/equipment it may also make blocking even more worth your while. (Note:You can also add Mp into your Blocking to help defend, Adding Mp is better on Ki attacks then physical attacks.)
EX- Someone fires an Energy Beam at you, you block and add 10 Mp. The dmg after the block is 10, with your added Mp the attack does 6 dmg.(This is just an example, actual dmgs may vary; Note that you don't have to add any Mp at all.)

Countering -ah, what everyone wants to do 24/7... Well this isn't what you'd think of it as. No, this is not a whenever you want to type of thing, this is when ever you are able to and if you want to. This is for Ki attacks only, if someone fires a Ki attack at you-you have a possibility for an extra option to counter; No this is not slapping an attack back even though that is countering, this is firing your Ki attack at theirs resulting in a variety of things. For example- your blast may carry both blasts to your opponent, both blast might hit you, the blasts may explode on contact... Everything varies depending on the attacks, as well as your ability to use those attacks, and many other conditions as well.

Or lets say someonme is going to do a barrage attack, in that case you actually have the choice of doing a barrage back to that person. Who ever gets the most hits wins. (Note: even if you roll a lower number then your opponent you may still land more hits than they do.)

.: Physical Attacks

These are attacks done without using basically any Ki. Single attacks with just one attack may possibly do more dmg than a combo or barrage. Physical attacks don’t consume Mp as fast as Ki Attacks.

.: Ki And Energy Attacks *NEW*

Energy Attacks *NEW*- Well to be honest there is no real difference between a Ki attacks and an energy attacks, they are basically the same thing. But this is somehting that EVERY character can do. It's to fire any type of Ki blast/ball. How this works is simple. You use your Mp as Damage.
Mp used times(x) 1.5

Ki Attacks- Ki Attacks are usually Mp based attacks. By using some of your Mp you can use these attacks such as energy beams, waves, blasts, and aura/barriers. Ki Attacks give better dmg possibilities than a physical attack (i.e. if in a combo I punched, kicked, DAH, and fired and Energy Beam; the punch, kick and DAH may do 50% dmg where as the Energy Beam may do 75% dmg). Ki attacks may also be counterable by another; not meaning you can choose to knock it back, but you can fire on Ki Attack at another. (NOTE: Some blasts/ beams/ki balls/ ki waves may not be compatable with each other and various things may happen). For an extended list of Ki attacks and what they are/look like go to the Attacks Seen Page.
Note: Ki Attacks do 10% extra DMG in AND out of combos***

.: Abilities, Skills, and Stats

(Note: This is the base for the bonuses, there may be differences for your race/class.)

Charge- Charging is collecting energy(Restoring MP and a littl bit of HP) so that you can continue to fight. (Note that without MP you may pass out even if you have full HP.) About every other Charge is "free" which means the first time you charge you don't have to take a turn to do it(So you can like Free Charge and attack and it's not considered a combo; OR you could do a Free Charge and still do a 4 move combo and it's still valad) Note that you cannot charge more then 3x in 1 turn(may vary; Also depending on your speed and your opponents speed the longer you charge the more of a chance they have to stop you while your trying to Charge).ALSO, the more you charge the less it does -you can only charge to get so powerful until you reach your max. (Heals around 10% Hp each time you charge)

Level 1: +10 Mp, +1 Sp, +5% Hp, +100 Power Level, -10 Rage

Level 2: +12 Mp, +1 Sp, +8% Hp, +150 Power Level, -12 Rage

Level 3: +15 Mp, +1 Sp, +10% Hp, +200 Power Level, -15 Rage

Power Up- If Charging brings you to your max, then powering up pushes you past it. Powering Up is gathering power and strength. By increasing your strength and power you'll do more dmg and increase your defense making it so attacks don't do quite as much dmg to you while you increase your DMG to others; BUT unlike charging this costs MP to do (Also there is no free Power Ups like there are charges) (When your at a big power level disadvantage this can really help sometimes, or if you need a nice little boost of rage)

Level 1: -20 Mp, +2 Str, +200 Power Level, +10 Rage

Level 2: -22 Mp, +2 Str, +300 Power Level, +12 Rage

Level 3: -25 Mp, +2 Str, +400 Power Level, +15 Rage

Combo- In a combo all effects and costs and such are partial. (For example, a physical that normally costs 4 Mp and does 20 dmg may only cost 2 mp and do 10 dmg.) A combo is more one action being preformed in a single turn; for every action after the first you must spend a "Combo Point"(CP). (Note: No more then 3 CPs; 4 actions can be preformed in a combo. As your Combo Level increases this may change.)
EX 1- You attack with a Punch, Kick and a Knee. That is equivalent to 2 CPs.
EX 2- You attack with a Distraction(Or a Free Charge), Punch, Kick and a Knee. That is still equivalent to 2 CPs. (Some actions don't count as actual actions)

Hint: A good advantage about combos is that they increase your chance for Damage. If you do a single attack or move your focusing on that single move, you are putting all your hopes on that one thing(100% dmg) but lets say you do two attacks. then they are both only partial dmg they may only do 60% of the dmg that they do normally(Which is 20% more dmg than normal, if completely successful)

% of DMG Charge/Power Up Effectiveness
___________________ ______________ ___________________________
Single Attack/Move 100% 100%
Two Attacks/Moves 60% 80%
Three Attacks/Moves 50% 70%
Four Attacks/Moves 50% 60%

Note: Ki Attacks do 10% extra DMG in AND out of combos***

Level 1: Physical Attacks, Ki Attacks, and Abilities aloud. 2-4 hit combo(1-3 Combo Points)

Level 2: Physical Attacks, Ki Attacks, and Abilities aloud. 2-4 hit combo(1-3 Combo Points) (Bonus CP) (Learn Combo Tech.)

Level 3: Physical Attacks, Ki Attacks, and Abilities aloud. 2-5 hit combo(1-4 Combo Points) (Bonus CP)

Level 4: Physical Attacks, Ki Attacks, and Abilities aloud. 2-5 hit combo(1-4 Combo Points) (Bonus CP) (Learn Combo Tech)

Barrage- This is a lot like a Combo but without the combo points. Barrages are done out of anger and agression. Combo's are controlled were as barrages are random. You must have 40 rage to preform a Barrage(If at any point you want to know how much rage you have, just let me know and I'll tell you.) Barrages are calculated by the number of strikes your doing(Which I roll for) and then the success rate of those attacks. (I know it makes no sense... but dont worry.) This is basically like a 'limit breaker' BUT you can only do it 3 times in a battle(Unless I say otherwise) Barrages are auto hits, the only problem is, it could be a good attack, it could be a shitty attack, it all just spends on your rolls. BUT if someone barrages you, no matter how much Rage you have you can counter barrage if you'd like. In that case I let you do a Barrage with only as much capability as you have. a Max Barrage(40 Rage) can do up to 15 strikes, so if you only have 20 Rage, you may only be capable of 7 or 8 strikes, BUT if your success rate is high enough compaired to thiers, your barrage may still be better, or atleast less the impact on your character.(NOTE: BARRAGES CAN POTENTIALLY HEAL YOU!!! A cirtain percent of the DMG that you do to an opponent will go to your HP to heal you a little)
EX 1- Lets say you do a Barrage, you have 60 rage points, a 8 is rolled for your character(12 Strikes are attempted), I subtract 32 rage points, you now have 28 rage points. You get a 70% success rate(About 8 hits actually land), you do 40 dmg (Which in this case would have been 2x your attack capability if this was your character... [Atleast in this senario])
EX 2- You attack with a barrage and get 9 strikes, your opponent counters with a barrage and gets 12 strikes, you land 7 hits, they land 5, after returning attacks blow by blow, you knock them back and then double axe handle them too the ground, you recieve no dmg, they recieve 20.(This is just an example).

Latent Health- When you knock some one out, you have 1 of 2 choices. 1) Leave their negative Hp as bonus EXP for after the fight; or 2) Use their negative Hp to heal yourself a bit. (Note: Not all characters will be able to do this, check your character's abilities to see if you can.)
EX- You knock someone out and they have -30 HP. If you leave it for bonus EXP it can be like 10 bonus exp(Which at level 1 is like 20% more exp than normal); if you use Latent Health you man heal 10 Hp. You usually won't gain as much Exp as Health, but which is more important to you at the time? that's the question you have to ask yourself.

Distraction- This can range from firing a Ki attack to disappearing/reappearing. For a distraction you spend 10(+) Mp and get to attempt to distract your opponent for a better chance to do your next action whether it be attacking or just using an item. (Note: You can choose to fire a Ki attack as a distraction, and if that Ki attack hits it can possibly do better dmg but cost more Mp)
EX 1- You fire a distraction followed by a ram. No combo points are used. If the distraction works you increase your chance to hit even though they can still dodge or what not.
EX 2- You fire an Energy Beamx2 for a distraction followed by a ram. No combo points are used. If the distraction works you increase your chance to hit even though they can still dodge or what not. You have to spend 15 Mp instead of 10 Mp; if your opponent gets hit by the distraction (Not fall for it, get hit by it) you do 8-40(+) dmg instead of 6-30(+) dmg. (Note: This is just an example)

Note: Ki Attacks do 10% extra DMG in AND out of combos***

.: Ki And Energy Attacks *NEW*

.: Being Attacked! *New*

When being attacked, there isn’t much to choose from... You have two options, sometimes three.

.: Option 1 - Dodging

Dodging. Dodging is the basic form of stopping an attack. This is a pass fail situation. You both roll your twenty-sided die. This is where the dodge and strike on your character sheets come into play…
Let’s say the person attacking you has a Physical strike of +2. Then no matter what that person rolls, add 2 to their roll. If your dodge is -1 then you subtract 1 from your roll. Who’s ever total is higher wins. If the attacker gets a higher number they hit, if you get a higher number you dodge. BUT! If your numbers are the same or one off, then it’s a ½ hit only good for 50% of the damage.

.: Option 2 - Blocking

Blocking. Blocking is great if you would rather take a partial amount of damage instead of potentially a whole hit for max damage. For this you are letting your opponent hit you, so you more than lately will receive damage. BUT -only at a fraction of the normal damage. For this the defender rolls their twenty-sided dice, the chart shown here shows you what each number on your roll represents. If you roll between 2-19 you may have a modifier on your character sheet that makes your roll better.

Roll Defense Success Actual Outcome
________ _________________________ _________________________
1 Critical Fail (Block Break) Receive 150%(3/2) dmg
2 8% Damage Receive 92% dmg
3 12% Damage Receive 88% dmg
4 16% Damage Receive 84% dmg
5 20% Damage Receive 80% dmg
6 24% Damage Receive 76% dmg
7 28% Damage Receive 72% dmg
8 32% Damage Receive 68% dmg
9 36% Damage Receive 64% dmg
10 40% Damage Receive 60% dmg
11 44% Damage Receive 56% dmg
12 48% Damage Receive 52% dmg
13 52% Damage Receive 48% dmg
14 56% Damage Receive 44% dmg
15 60% Damage Receive 40% dmg
16 64% Damage Receive 36% dmg
17 68% Damage Receive 32% dmg
18 72% Damage Receive 28% dmg
19 76% Damage Receive 24% dmg
20 Critical Success(Counter) Return 50%(1/2) dmg

.: Option 3 - Countering

In this case you both must roll your attacks damage, whoever’s damage is higher wins. If they are both matched or relatively close, they both blow up. If one is higher by a moderate amount then add both of the damages up and take 75% of the total and send it to the loser. If one attack is substantially higher than another, the smaller attack is destroyed. It’s up to the players if the loser has a chance to dodge/block the attack.

Stats-

.: Fight Example and Brief Explanation

Incase I have lost you, here is a fight for you to see to better understand things... (This is going to be in aim format so it's realistic, note: CracMonkey21 is my SN, but SaiyanA and SaiyanB aren't anyones SNs, atleast as far as I know.)

Yeah this fight is a bit bland, but when people don't role play, that is what it looks like, now lets see the same fight as before, but with role playing.

.: Groups

The best thing to do is to get people along with who ever they are going to be up against if you can guess it. For instance, If there are 3 people comming to earth and you know thier power levels, try getting together with who ever is closest to your power level, if i think that you are too strong for your opponent I will make them fight better and/or make them become stronger.

.: Wile Traveling in Groups

When traveling with someone make sure to look out for them and keep them as well as yourself from being knocked out because being knocked out could actually be getting killed. If you can distribute what ever you find equally so you can look after each other as well as your selves. If you notice your partner is getting weak or is about to be KOed/Killed, have them sit out wile you fight. If you so choose take turns fighting and looking after each other, you can either have one person choose where the group goes or you can take turns choosing where you guys go.

.: Working as one

There are certain things you can do to attack together instead of apart like; If both people know the same Ki attack depending on what it is you can both fire it at the same time combining the blast(Or what ever) as one blast. (Talk to your teammate before just doing this, also ask me if you can do it outside of the chat, note that in doing this you are 'slowing down' your characters in a turn based sense that the next time u r attacked or you attack, your chance to hit or dodge might be reduced.)

Another thing, if your teammate needs your help be sure you help them. Act like this is real life, what would you do. You can make sacrifices for your teammate as well if you’d like. If someone fires a blast at a teammate and you feel it’s necessary, you may get in the way of a blast and let it hit you instead of it possibly hitting a teammate. Just be smart and have fun. Always think of this as real life, I’ll tell you what the world is like and what is going on and you tell me what you’d like to do, I’ll tell you what happens.

.: Types of Fights

Spar- a usual spar is 1 on 1 (Can be higher numbers.) fight where if you loose, you’re just knocked out. If you are knocked out, you stay knocked out for 1-2 hours unless some one has a Item that will reive you. If you loose, and you wake up from being knocked out, you have 1/2 of your Hp. (and 1/2 your Ki (Mp) if you passed out because of Lack of Ki (Mp)) (Note: When you are knocked out, you’re open to have stuff taken from you, so you might want to get people to watch the fight. (If you pre arrange the fight and you fight in a ring, people are there watching, if not, no one is, unless you get members to watch that are on your planet.))

Staked Spar- a usual staked spar is 1 on 1 (Can be higher numbers.) fight where a weapon, item, armor, accessory, money, and/or more is given to the winner (there can’t be an object placed that you don’t have, so if you don’t have anything, you cant place anything down.) For instance; if you’re fighting someone and you say, “If you win you get my…” (if you have one:) “…Scouter” After that, several things can happen: 1) you just fight/don’t fight, 2) the other person says they will put down ______, 3) you ask for something from them. After that, winner of the fight takes all. (Note: there are infinity things that you can stake (put down) like a position on a team, friend ship, respect, a weapon, an item, a piece armor, an accessory, some money, and/or more.)

2v1, 2v2, 2v3, 3v1, 3v3, 2v2v2, 1v2v2, 1v3v2…- for these, it’s usually just a spar, but it’s just so many people vs. so many people.

FFA (Free for all)- a FFA is usually where 3-6 people fight every man for themselves. (Note: This may be staked. And there can be alliances, Rules, and more)

Tourney- Tourney, or better worded, a tournament, for this, mainly you cant start one, unless you can get enough people to join your tourney. You get the people, and I will handle everything else. BUT must tourney’s are pre set at random times, There will be NPCs in pre set tourneys too.

Bid Open fight- for a bid open fight, it can be ANY type of fight; an open fight is letting people bet on the winner of the fight. People come and bet money, and if some one is bet on and they win, they get ½ of the money bet. And if some one is bet on and the other person wins, ¼ the money bet on the other person goes to them. And with the people betting, if they bet on the winner, they get 50% of the money they bet. (So if you bet 10$ and you are right, you get 15$ and the person you bet on gets 5$) and if you bet on the person who looses you loose all the money you bet. (So if you bet 10$ and you are wrong, you get –10$ and the person you bet on gets nothing, and the person who beat the person you bet on gets 2.5$ (or 3$ because we don’t use decimals, so we round up for money))

Death match- for this… well… it is kind of self explanatory, if you loose, you don’t wake up… If you don’t wake up, it basically means... well… you’re dead… If you die… well you’re back some levels, (unless you want to wait for someone to wish you back) and if you die again, you’re dead until you get wished back.

Your Fight- for this, everything is up to you, you just tell me the rules and what’s going on, and I got the rest. (When making a fight, remember things like: no items, no weapons, no Super forms, no charging, no powering up, no combos, no double teaming, no ganging, no alliances, last man standing (tourney thing), Elimination, No Kis, No flying, No bulking up, no latent health, no steeling, no cheating, and much more, take things from other types of fights and create your own fight, I might just stick it up here.)

REMEMBER, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT ANYTHING, ASK ME!!!
